BEAUTIFUL CAT!!!

UPDATED MAR 20, 2014:

The word “Hobo” is often defined as a “migratory worker “or “vagabond”.  Unlike “bums” who do not work at all, “Hobo’s” are workers who wander.   And this little kitty has wandered a lot and is working very hard to find a forever home.  He landed at Almost Home with his sibling Caboose (who is available too), but they were too young to be adopted out  so they went into a lovely foster home until older.  He then traveled off to Pet Supplies Plus in Charlottesville in search of a new home where he managed to find his way into the heart of a kind soul who adopted him, but he got ill and was sadly returned.  He continued his journey to another foster home to get healthy.   He works very hard at being a good kitten.

As of  March 2014 he is now about 2 years or so. He has all his shots, been neutered and even microchipped by his foster mother.  He is not a huge lap fan (unless you have food),  but he does like to sit near you and keep an eye on what you are doing .  I would classify him more dog like than cat like since he like to follow you around and just watch you.  He is not scared of vacuums or construction noises.

He is a bit shy at first to newcomers but has been warming up quickly when potential adopters come to visit.  He unfortunately is often turned down because he isn’t that cuddly melt in your arms cat.  When you hold him he often looks around to see where his playmates are and asks to go play.  He is still young and energetic so his full personality isn’t developed.  He is easy goung and easy  to do stuff too such as toenail trimming, loves being brushed, even on his belly and even allows his tail to be cleaned in the sink when he manages to drag it through something he shouldn’t. He will definitely need to be brushed due to his fine fur matting easily.

He seems to do best on a diet of decent wet food (no fish), with small amount of dry to keep him healthy since he was diagnosed with Feline Calcivirus as a kitten.  This means he is more prone to kitty colds and a would be adopter needs to make sure he is eating.  This virus can cause mouth ulcers along with nasal congestion which can keep a cat from smelling his food and eating it.  It is also best if he is adopted to a household  as an only cat or one with a younger cat who is up to date on their vaccines that needs a playmate.

He plays well with the other cats and even enjoys a good chase with the dogs often letting them chew on him.  His favorite sleeping position is upside down, belly to the stars and head hanging over the edge of something.  Perhaps he likes the extra blood to his brain.

Hobo has grown into a sweet young cat.  As of June 2013 he is now about a year and a half. He has all his shots, been neutered and even microchipped by his foster mother.  He still is not a huge lap fan but he does like to sit near you and keep an eye on what you are doing.  I would classify him more dog like than cat like.  He is not scared of vacuums or construction noises.  He is a bit shy at first to newcomers but has been warming up quickly when potential adopters come to visit.  He unfortunately is often turned down because he isn’t that cuddly melt in your arms cat.  He still is easy to do stuff too such as toenail trimming, loves being brushed even on his belly and even getting his tail cleaned in the sink when he manages to drag it through something he shouldn’t.  He seems to do best on  decent wet food with small amount of dry to keep him healthy.   I’m sure he would love to sleep with his new adopter, he just doesn’t get the chance here at his foster home since the elder kitties stake that claim.  He plays well with the other young cats and lets the dogs chew on him.  His favorite sleeping position is upside down, belly to the stars and head hanging over the edge of something.

He continued his journey to another foster home to get healthy.   He works very hard at being a good kitten.  You can do anything to him.  You can sling him over your shoulders like a shawl,  carry him like a baby and he even enjoys a wrestle with a gentle dog.  He isn’t a cat that searches out your attentions but he gladly accepts it as long as he gets his foodies too.

He is about 4-5 months old at the moment and appears that he will be a good sized kitty when finished growing if his big appetite is any proof.  He always cleans his plate, perhaps due to a history of never quite knowing where his next meal will come from.  And he plays well with other kitties, although protective of his space at first.
